Bird tissue collection
The Natural History Museum of Denmark has one of the world largest tissue collections of birds. The tissue collection comprises some 35,000 samples of 3,600 species (35% of the world’s species), whereby most samples consist of blood preserved in DMSO.
A list of bird species represented in the collection is available. The species are ordered alphabetically by genus and species, and the number of available samples are listed in a separate column.
Tissue grants are governed by the zoological tissue collection policy.
